ROTATE

CiRcular ecOlogical essential & criTical raw mATErials

About ROTATE

The ROTATE project aims to provide environmental solutions and generate synergies between the mining and quarrying sectors. The goal is to boost efficiency, foster circularity and develop sustainable use of resources while raising general awareness about the importance of this strategic sector. The project is financed by the European Commission and runs from September 2022 until August 2026.

Objectives

  • Develop innovative/improved solutions for the extraction and processing of critical raw materials with increased efficiency and reduced environmental footprint.

  • Develop waste valorization and water recovery technologies contributing to circular models between the mining, quarrying and construction sectors.

  • Reduce environmental impact through assessment, management, and real-time monitoring of the sites, as well as improving their rehabilitation for better restoration of biodiversity.

Gate2Growth participation

Gate2Growth will lead tasks relating to commercial exploitation strategies. We will help identify technical opportunities toward the most promising directions, widen the possibilities for innovation activities and ensure future market uptake of the project’s results.

G2G main activities are:

  • Assessment of key exploitable results and identification of risks and needs related to pursuing their commercialization.

  • Develop business models and plans for each exploitable result.

  • Support implementation of adequate strategies for the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

ROTATE partners

The consortium involves 24 partners from 9 countries with 5 pilot sites in France, Portugal, Spain and Norway.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No. 101058651.
